Twilight Rummage Sale

The Twilight Rummage Sale is a sale that my mother runs on the last Saturday of every month. It takes plase in the East Portland Eagles Lodge 3256. The Eagles is an organization that heps raise money for charities. At this rummage sale you can find second hand things, like art, jewelry, and clothes. It's a good way to find neat cheap items. Also it's a great way to have fun, there's a DJ and in December there's a cakewalk. I find it a great way to meet people and make friends. It's not as big as the Rose Festival here in Portland but it is still very fun.

The money made by this sale goes to the buidlding fund for the lodge, some to charity and some to the Ladies Auxilary. Sometimes we have a table and we sell books. The Rummage Sale is a good way to get rid of items you don't need or to make some money or just to have fun. The best hing is that there's no smoking allowed inside the building so the air is cleaner.

Most of the time the people who have tables are artists, collectors, Members of the Lodge, and people who just want ot get rid of stuff in their house. There are a few people who have been doing the sale forever, like may a lodge member who is about 85 years old who makes beaded earrings, or Alichia who makes her own art which is always beautiful. I can remember both of them since i first started going to the Rummage sale. The Twilight Rummage Sale has been a part of my life for a very long time and it's very important to me.
